Tomson (Buxton) Ltd is a major supplier of fresh fruit and vegetables across Derbyshire and the Peak District.
The family-owned and run business was set up by Malcolm and Debby Thompson in 1986, when they bought a fruit and veg shop in Buxton.
Tomson has gone from being a small fruit and veg store on the high street to a large wholesaler, supplying much more than just fruit and vegetables. Its range covers cheese and dairy, dried goods, and locally-sourced bottled drinks and other artisan produce.
As the business grew, so did its premises and staff, from just two drivers to a valued team of more than 30.
In 2006, Tomson moved to its current site on the Rockhead Business Park, Buxton and in 2017, its warehousing facilities were extended to accommodate a bigger stock holding, on the back of a growth in business.
Over the past ten years, the company has diversified from being a secondary fruit and vegetable wholesaler to a primary importer with contacts across the UK and Europe.
